1952 KOREA Vintage Korean Brass Folding Picture Frame: Korean War Era Souvenir

Korean memorabilia, this unusual 1952 KOREA folding picture frame features detailed raised relief scenes and an aged brass-tone finish.  The frame opens on hinges and contains two oval photo openings. The front panels are decorated with elaborate embossed imagery. One side features a traditional Korean architectural scene with a pagoda or temple, a crane,  and the prominently raised inscription “1952 KOREA.” The opposite panel features an  ornate crane in raised relief and two dancing figures. This heavy frame weighs 2 lbs.  The 1952 date is especially intriguing, placing this souvenir within the Korean War period (1950–1953). While the inscription does not by itself establish that the frame was manufactured in 1952, it makes this an especially interesting piece for collectors of Korean War memorabilia, vintage travel souvenirs, Korean decorative arts, and unusual vintage frames. Size:  each of the two frame panels measures approximately 4-3/4 H x 3-1/4 W (see photo #13 and #14 for overall measurement)  Condition: preowned vintage condition with signs of age and use typical of brass finished pieces. Seller has not used any brass cleaning products on this estate sale find. The top pin for the hinge is missing (see picture #11). Each of the frame panels is missing a screw that holds the backing on (see picture #12). The brass surface patina, dark spots, and scuff/scratches. NO RETURN.
